From the studio

I poured the slip while the form was still leather-hard, on a cold morning in late autumn. The ash was from the apple tree we lost in the October storm.

The kiln did most of the rest. The way the glaze breaks at the shoulder is something I couldn't have planned — that's why it's a one of one.
