Tall throwing is mostly a question of patience. This bottle was pulled in two sections and joined while the lower half was still wet enough to compress the seam without cracking.
The glaze is a saturated iron — it wants to crystallize if the cool-down is slow enough. I held the kiln at 1900°F for forty minutes on the way down. The black breaks to rust where the form is thinnest.
